West Brow Fire & Rescue breaks ground for new fire hall

West Brow Fire and Rescue, Inc. broke ground for their new fire hall Monday, June 29, 2009.  Lawson Construction of Trenton is the major contractor for the ground work.  Contracts were also awarded to Yerbey Construction for the concrete work and Ledco Construction for the actual building construction.  West Brow Fire and Rescue have been in need of a new fire hall for several years and through the efforts of many in the community were able to start construction.  Primary funds for this worthwhile endeavor were raised by members of the West Brow community and the generous donations of many made this possible.  Fund raising efforts to this point are still short of funds needed for completion of the project.  To date WBFR has raised about $225,000 in cash and pledges with an additional $95,000 needed to finish the interior work.  This early stage of construction is of the building shell only with the remaining construction to be completed as funds are raised.  West Brow Fire & Rescue is a 501C3 organization and all donations are tax deductible.  Donations may still be mailed to West Brow Fire and Rescue, 9655 Scenic Hwy, Lookout Mountain, GA 30750.
