Overview

World Next Door is Chattanooga’s retailer of global gifts from over 40 nations.  We feature clothing, jewelry, bags, gifts, and more, all unique and handmade, and imported at a fair price from some of the poorest countries on earth.

Bright and colorful, our inventory is not only full of character, but also enables the artists who make each item to earn a fair wage.  We source all of our products from fair trade cooperatives overseas.  Fair trade combats global poverty by ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, financial counseling, and other benefits to producers who share equal ownership in their business’ cooperative.  Through fair trade, families in the poorest parts of the world are able to better support themselves, send their children to school, and meet needs that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to.

Many of our items are made from recycled materials, keeping trash out of landfills and helping to care for our environment.
