The mission of the Chattanooga Zoo is to provide an educational and recreational opportunity for all. The educational mission stresses understanding of and respect for all living things. A strong commitment to conservation for generations to come is implicit in this mission. The Chattanooga Zoo seeks to provide a dignified and aesthetically pleasing environment for the animals. Come spend a couple of hours wandering through the Zoo and getting to know some of the wildest residents of Chattanooga. The Gombe Forest features 5 chimpanzees, including Hank, the best known animal in Chattanooga! Take a stroll through The Himalayan Passage, the newest exhibit, featuring red pandas, snow leopards, langurs and the highly endangered “Bali-Mynahsâ€. Head up to South America to see the spider monkeys swinging around, the jaguar lounging in the sun, and the macaws striking up a conversation with whomever passes by. Before you go, make sure to stop by the Warner Park Ranch Exhibit and feed the goats – and don’t forget to pat Peanut Butter the “ranch dog” on the head too!
