Information about Chattanooga

Nicknamed "the Scenic City," Chattanooga is the county seat of Hamilton County, the anchor city of the Chattanooga Metropolitan Statistical area, and the fourth largest city in Tennessee.  In terms of population, Chattanooga only trails (in order from largest to smallest): Memphis, Nashville, and Knoxville.

Throughout the past several decades Chattanooga has been known (quite appropriately given its nickname) for its natural scenic beauty.  Surrounded by mountains and offering an atmosphere of clean and refreshing outdoors, the city has started to become a more popular tourist destination in recent years.  Combining the natural beauty with some major infrastructure changes and enhancements has pushed the Chattanooga through a period of revitalization and is currently undergoing a shift that balances manufacturing and service industries.
